Uganda are already eliminated from the group D of the AFCON competitions before their final group stage game. They will be facing Mali in the final game as they play for pride at Stade d’Oyem.
Uganda lost their first two games against Ghana and Egypt giving them zero points as they are in the last spot of group D. They have also failed to register a single goal so far, they lost the two previous games by a lone goals each. Uganda will be hoping to win or draw this game to leave the competition with at least a point.
On the contrary, Mali’s qualification chances are very slim, their qualification is dependent on two factors; winning by high margin and hoping that Egypt lose to Ghana.
Mali have just a point to their name having lost against Ghana and drawn against Egypt. They are 3rd in the group and have failed to register a goal in the competition so far. They will hope to win this game, praying for the downfall the Egyptians to pull them through.
